Genome-Wide Association Mapping of Seedling Vigor and Regrowth Vigor in Winter Wheat

Seedling vigor and regrowth ability are important traits for the forage production of winter wheat. The objectives this study were to map quantitative trait loci (QTL) associated with seedling using a genome-wide association mapping (GWAS). evaluated shoot length, number shoots per plant dry weight 45 days after planting 15 cutting. A large phenotypic variation was observed all studied. In total, 12 significant QTL 16 detected on various chromosomes. Four chromosomes 2B, 4B, 5A 7A co-localized due correlations between corresponding initial growth regrowth. BLAST search DNA sequences revealed candidate genes playing roles in vegetative reproductive development different crop species. single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers identified will be further validated used marker-assisted selection during wheat breeding.
